TRANSFORMATION THROUGH THE PERFORMING ARTS

We are Theatre of the 7 Directions (T7D), a non-profit eco-theatre organisation creating artistic experiences that reconnect humans with themselves, each other, and the rest of nature.

We are Theatre of the 7 Directions (T7D), a non-profit eco-theatre organisation offering transformation through the performing arts. Our courses invite people from all backgrounds to deepen their sense of belonging and strengthen community consciousness, where community includes humans and the rest of nature.

Through movement, voice, and story, you will reconnect with yourself and the living world around you. Our ecotheatre experiences are held in close relationship with the land, one of the most stunning areas of Scotland, creating immersive spaces to explore who you are, how you feel, and how you want to show up in your community and in the world.

Each journey rests on three core principles: self-discovery, connection with nature, and community-building. You do not need previous theatre experience, just curiosity, a willingness to play, and an openness to being changed by the encounter with others and the more-than-human world.

QUOTE FROM THE FOUNDER

The trees have roots, and so do we. Our roots are our stories - the experiences, memories, and dreams that shape who we are and how we stand in the world. When we tend to these stories with care, courage, and imagination, we feed the deeper soil of our shared future. The future of the world depends on the stories we choose to tell, embody, and pass on. - Laura Pasetti, Founder & Artistic Director

Meet Laura Pasetti

Artistic Director, Playwright, & Acting Coach.

"I have always considered theatre a mission more than a profession. At my core, I am simply an artist on a quest." — Laura Pasetti

Laura Pasetti is an international director, coach, and eco-theatre pioneer whose work bridges the classical stages of Europe with the living landscapes of Scotland to deepen our collective connection to humanity and the earth.

Laura graduated in 1990 under the legendary Giorgio Strehler at the Piccolo Teatro di Milano – National Theatre of Italy. Following a highly successful acting career and a pivotal 2005 encounter with Russian pedagogue Anatolji Vassilev, she relocated to Scotland and founded Charioteer Theatre. She also spent a decade returning to teach at the Piccolo Teatro Acting School before dedicating herself fully to developing her own nature-led methodology.

In 2016, Laura began fusing her deep theatrical expertise with ecology, transforming the stage into an active instrument to reconnect humans to the natural world and re-awaken a true sense of belonging. To ground this practice, she began studying Engaged Ecology at Schumacher College / Plymouth University in 2021.

Today, Laura lives and creates within the Findhorn Ecovillage, where she channels her decades of training into the Theatre of the 7 Directions. Through flagship intensives like My non-human friend and I, she invites participants directly into the center of the compass—where theatrical mastery, engaged ecology, and the human heart collide.

"Theatre is an act of remembering. It is how we re-weave ourselves back into the vibrant, non-human world that sustains us." — Laura Pasetti
