EcoTheatre Summer Camp for Teens | 1 Aug 2025
August 1 – August 11
August’s Youth Adventure:
Scotland’s Top Summer Camp!

When: August 01 – August 11
Where: Findhorn Village
Ages: 14-18
Make connections that last a lifetime
Our Summer Camps are known to be a pivotal and defining moment for our teenage campers. For many, it is the first time in their lives meeting others with the same interests, a chance to ‘find their tribe’.
Instead of grabbing at mobile phones for connection, our summer campers are given the opportunity to connect deeply with each other.
They will meet teenagers from different nations of the world and work together to become a strong, safe community of open-minded and open-hearted humans.

Connect with Nature
They will also spend time connecting with plant and animal life that they might not come across back home.
We provide the space and expertise in ways of connecting with nature by getting them outside into the great wild outdoors of Northern Scotland.
This part of the program offers them a fresh perspective on the vitality of our living environment and humanity’s place within it.

Connect with Self
Our camp offers somatic exercises, breathing, and meditation to help teens stay grounded and focused, countering the effects of digital overload and sedentary habits. It’s crucial for today’s youth to reconnect.
We also nurture their creative voices through journaling, acting, writing, dancing, and performing. Amid global cuts in arts funding, our 10-day program champions artistic self-expression.
Return Home a New Person
At an age where every move matters, there are few experiences that might build confidence as much as making and performing theatre publicly (especially far away from home).
For those whose first language isn’t English, this is a prime chance to practice with native speakers, and to try public-speaking in the UK.
For many, art and creativity are first to go when it comes to ‘the crunch’ in life. We inspire an ethos in our teenagers that as they grow older, not only can they always tap into their creative side, but that it will in fact benefit their mental health and professional life if they do so – no matter what type of field they dedicate their life to.

On the cusp of further education, and entering the daunting arena of professional work, Summer Camp can be the extra feather in their cap enabling them to strive further and with more confidence.
Our campers return home with a passion for the environment and a dedication to step out of their comfort zone in everything they do.
Enjoy the Wild Nature of
Northern Scotland

Findhorn Village, where the hostel is located, is a quaint former fishing village and one of the most desired places in Scotland for holidaymakers.
Immediately outside the hostel is the iconic Findhorn Bay, from which sailing boats, kayakers and wind-surfers enter the nearby North Sea. Seals can be heard singing and are regularly seen up close on the beach. The sky around Findhorn Bay feels more massive than most places.
By design, no buildings there exceed two stories, and the village is on a relatively flat peninsula. It makes Findhorn Bay a dazzling place for sunsets and sunrises. And at nighttime, because of the lack of light pollution, stars (stationary as well as shooting) and Aurora Borealis are in their full vigour in Findhorn.
Findhorn and Moray in general is one of the most sheltered, dry and sunny parts of Scotland because of its geographical situation. This translates into bright and sunny days throughout the summer camp season. In short, you will love it here!
A World-Renowned EcoVillage Nearby
As if there wasn’t enough to make this location sparkle, Findhorn Village is also walking distance to one of the first and largest Ecovillages on the planet. Findhorn Ecovillage also happens to be the single largest intentional community in the UK.
Renowned for ecological building, renewable energies, organic food and ecological water systems, Findhorn Ecovillage has been ahead of the curve for decades.
With buildings of all sorts of shapes and colours (beehive, whisky barrel, and Hobbit-like houses), a walk through Findhorn Ecovillage really feels like a trip to Wonderland.

Many artists live here and have visited over the years. It is a place ripe for inspiration. And what’s more, there are regular theatre, music, dance and meditation events to ignite the spirit.
Summer Camp will include activities in this magical place, with workshoppers of varying disciplines who have travelled from around the world to call this cutting-edge place their home.

Cosy Accommodation
Summer Camp participants will be housed in the cosy Findhorn Village Hostel. The hostel itself has a prestigious four stars from the Scottish Tourism Board.
It is a sturdy stone building converted from a former village school. It has separate male and female rooms with bunk beds. There is also a fully-equipped kitchen available in the hostel, as well as Wi-Fi which is accessible for when the teenagers need to update their parents or guardians.

Healthy and Yummy Food
The food that will be provided over the 10 days will be vegetarian, and mostly fresh organic. We can also cater to any gluten-free and allergy requirements.
It might not be everyone’s preference to go 10 days without having meat in meals. However, at such an impressionable age, it can be useful for teenagers with their long lives ahead of them to at least encounter what it is like to experience such a diet for a time.
In the milieu of record childhood-obesity, and immediate access to any amount of junk food and fast food, 10 days of freshly cooked vegetarian meals enjoyed with friends can be a way to detox their diet and inspire new ways of eating.
Our varied, balanced meals will include homemade soup, locally baked bread, and fresh vegetables and fruit that are largely sourced from farms in the surrounding area.
Meals will be prepared by Desie, a professional chef who is accustomed to cooking at least weekly for large groups of people in the local community
