Newbold Legacy Trust’s generous grant to Theatre of the 7 Directions (T7D) includes support for three funded places on our 2024 Ecotheatre Summer Camps in Findhorn – two places for those aged 15-19, and one place on the adult Summer Camp.
Applications are open to local people who may have otherwise faced barriers in applying. The following link will be of interest to anyone eager for a life-changing opportunity to learn new skills and make friends this summer through arts and the environment.
Those successful will have to pay only £100 for the full 10-day course. This includes full-board meals, accommodation, teaching materials, field trips, activities with local ecologists and artists, and 75-hours of tuition. The usual cost of the course is £1,600.
As a socially conscious Scottish charity, T7D is working with Newbold Legacy Trust to use this grant to deliver increased diversity on our programmes, and to nourish local talent.
There are around 10 participants on each Summer Camp, many of them coming from different countries as far afield as founding director Laura Pasetti’s native Italy. The programme has been honed and developed over a decade.
Speaking of the Newbold Legacy Trust grant, Laura said:
“I’m extremely grateful for this most generous funding as it gives us the opportunity to root ourselves in Moray, and especially Forres, working with local communities. The work of ecotheatre is all about working with communities to restore and strengthen a sense of community.”
Newbold Legacy Trust is an independent grant-making trust that supports voluntary and community groups operating mainly in the Forres Academy catchment area. They support many local organisations such as Dance North Scotland, Film Forres, SwimABLE Scotland and ReBOOT.
