Benefits for Children

The young participants will be introduced to simple practices that will help them to remain embodied, present and responsive to the world’s invitations.

In a time where anxiety and isolation are increasing, especially in the young generations, this course will offer an alternative to the way we respond to what is happening around and inside us.

Teenager class having fun

Somatic movement, breathing techniques and group improvisation will help to develop engagement and response-abilities. We will encourage the discovery of each child’s unique creative mode and support their journey of self-discovery through art.

Scientific studies have shown that social behaviour and mental health are affected by the climate crisis – children feel this even more than adults. By encouraging self-expression, stimulating creative thinking and facilitating physical engagement, we help our young participants to gain agency and react in a new creative way to the impulses offered by the environment.

What to Expect

Guided by an expert facilitator, each child will receive individual attention. This is why the course is limited to 12 participants. According to the child’s preferences and inclination, each participant will be encouraged to find their own way of expression. Special guests such as musicians, dancers and storytellers will offer sessions to support the realisation of our final show.

Activities include:

  • Games and exercises to increase listening, focusing and body expression
  • Improvisation skills
  • Staying in character skills
  • Speaking in groups

Ecological Theatre Principles

Previous participants  wrote a list of values that are developed with EcoTheatre, which your child will come across on TheatreQuest:

The wisdom to know that we’re not alone

Responding to those who cry for help

Reaching a hand out to suffering rather than closing our eyes pretending that we don’t see

Gratitude for what has been given to us

Caring for home

Not needing a reason to be kind

The desire to take action and make a difference

Hearing the ancient call from Nature to care for each other

Learning from Nature that everything has its purpose

Putting our talents at the service of others so nothing goes to waste

Knowing when and how to apologise

Knowing our place in the world

Theatre Quests Abroad

Contact us to enquire about having our TheatreQuest programmes delivered to your local community, ecovillage, school or organisation.

We can deliver hybrid programmes,  part online and part-in person, or fully in-person in most countries. We can also deliver online only eco activities (workshops) or conferences on specific topics.

We wish to animate the world with more inspiring animateurs, artists who will lead society into a more ecologically healthy vision of life.

Our TheatreQuests, immersive group experiences with final performances, are a way for your group to process, express and bond.
